(No dough) : Just before I fall asleep, I kind of « hesitate stepping into dreamland, and great weird things happen. Like this one time, whn Chan Marshall from Cat Power was distinctly singing to me “…Rockstars, quitters,…”, and it was all there, the melody, the chords, I could hear it all ! I jumped off the mattress to write it all down, that sweet sweet tune that had just emerged from my sleepy haze. I wrote some lyrics from words my friend Anabel had once said to me: “ Can’t, got no dough.” And so when I recorded the song, I had to have her lay her soft little voice on it. I like the kitty-like guitar.
